Arsenal ‘Reach Agreement’ with Espanyol’s Garcia
Arteta and his team have been exploring the market, with Ramsdale, 26, being connected to a possible transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Sources from GIVEMESPORT indicate that Ramsdale is intrigued by the prospect of playing under Gary O’Neil at Molineux. Meanwhile, his current club has identified 23-year-old Garcia, who is three years younger, as a potential replacement.
According to the dependable Romano in his Daily Briefing, the Gunners have already reached an agreement with Garcia and are now awaiting Ramsdale’s departure before making their initial offer.
“Arsenal already have an agreement with Joan Garcia to replace Ramsdale if he leaves. The Espanyol goalkeeper, 23, won the Olympics final with Spain this summer, and he has an agreement on a contract with Arsenal.
“Now it’s down to a club-to-club agreement, but that’s not going to be a problem from what I’m hearing, so when Ramsdale leaves, they will be ready with an official bid for Garcia, this is the idea.”
Sallent de Llobregat native Garcia showcased his talent for Spain at the 2024 Paris Olympics and appears close to earning his senior debut under Luis de la Fuente, particularly after making 14 appearances for Espanyol last season.
Meanwhile, Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo reported that Premier League club Liverpool has entered the competition for Garcia’s signature, with the report also indicating that La Liga side Girona is also showing interest.
