“We Take It for Granted”: Paul Merson Names “Amazing” Arsenal Player Who Doesn’t Get Enough Credit

Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are set to clash in one of the most anticipated games of the new Premier League season, with three points and bragging rights on the line.

Arsenal enters the match with two wins and a draw from their first three games, and several players are already making notable contributions this season.

Kai Havertz has made a strong start, scoring twice and providing an assist, establishing himself as Arsenal’s most effective attacker so far.

Bukayo Saka has also impressed with his performances, solidifying his role as the driving force of Arsenal’s attack.

However, despite his form and consistent displays in recent years, Paul Merson believes the England international remains somewhat underrated by both fans and pundits.

The Arsenal legend feels that people have started to overlook Saka and aren’t giving him the recognition he deserves for his consistent performances.

“He is amazing. He puts up figures. I don’t think he gets the credit he deserves if I am being honest,” Merson said on Sky Sports News.

“He just does his job consistently every week. It’s like we take it for granted, and that’s why I don’t think he gets the credit.

“We expect him to do what he does week in and week out.”

The 23-year-old has scored three goals and provided two assists in nine Premier League matches against Tottenham and will aim to increase that count.

With Arsenal facing a midfield crisis, Havertz might be deployed in a deeper role, which could lead to adjustments in the Gunners’ attacking trio.

Whether it’s Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard, or Raheem Sterling starting, Saka remains Arsenal’s key figure in attack, carrying the responsibility to deliver a decisive moment in the North London derby.
