“I Can Say…” – Fabrizio Romano Shares What He’s Now Hearing on Saliba Leaving Arsenal After Rudiger’s Comment

William Saliba’s impressive displays for Arsenal have drawn attention from major European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

However, Fabrizio Romano has assured fans that the French defender has not given any thought to leaving the Emirates.

The rumours gained traction after Antonio Rudiger of Real Madrid praised Saliba, even suggesting that he would be an ideal addition to the Spanish squad.

This sparked concern among Arsenal supporters, but Saliba is under a long-term contract with the club, and despite the growing interest, he is committed to his future in north London.

Fabrizio Romano Shares Update on William Saliba Future at Arsenal

Romano, through his Daily Briefing, addressed the speculation about Saliba’s future, which was heightened by Rudiger’s comments. He clarified:

“I can say there is absolutely nothing going on with Saliba and any other club. Back in the summer we had rumours about Saliba and PSG, and about Spanish clubs, but the reality is that he never considered leaving Arsenal. He extended his contract in summer 2023, and he remains very happy with life at the club, it’s fantastic for him there.

“Saliba can see the ambition under manager Mikel Arteta, and he can see how important he is in the project.

“It’s obvious that Saliba would have admirers from other big players as he’s one of the best centre-backs in the world, but it’s a compliment for the player, but nothing more than that. Saliba is very happy at Arsenal and they are very happy with him, so the intention is to continue together for the long term.”

Since joining Arsenal in 2019, Saliba spent much of his early career on loan in France, only making his Premier League debut in 2022. Since then, the 23-year-old has made significant progress, establishing himself as one of the top defenders globally.

His exceptional talent has naturally drawn interest from major clubs, with reports last month suggesting that PSG, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich were among several teams vying for his services.

However, after signing a new contract in the summer of 2023, extending his stay until 2027, Saliba has firmly committed his future to Arsenal.
