Report Claims “Sensational” Arsenal Player Set to Leave the Club This Summer
Arsenal anticipate that a £200,000-per-week player will leave the club this summer, with more exits expected as sporting director Edu Gaspar continues to overhaul the team.
Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares are among Arsenal’s latest confirmed departures, having secured loan moves away from the Emirates Stadium, with more players likely to follow.
Tavares has moved to Lazio on an initial loan that will become permanent next summer for around £7.5 million, while Lokonga has joined Sevilla on a temporary deal that includes a purchase option set at around £10 million.
Young striker Mika Biereth has made a permanent switch to Sturm Graz for around £4 million. Additionally, Mohamed Elneny and Cedric Soares left the club when their contracts expired on June 30, with other notable players potentially on their way out.
Aaron Ramsdale, Kieran Tierney, Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nkeitah, and Emile Smith Rowe have all been linked with potential departures. Nelson is reported to have agreed to personal terms with West Ham, and the club is working on finalizing the deal.
Reports suggest Arsenal have set a £40 million price tag for Nketiah, with Marseille showing interest. Tierney, who is not part of Arteta’s plans, is available for transfer, and the club is open to offers for the Scotsman.
Midfielder Thomas Partey is another player whose future is uncertain. The 31-year-old made only 14 Premier League appearances last season due to fitness issues and is in the final year of his contract.
Arsenal risk losing Partey for free next summer but may consider selling him if a suitable offer comes in. Despite his importance in recent years, the club could be tempted to cash in on him while they still can.
Thomas Partey Expected to Leave Arsenal This Summer
There haven’t been a solid update about his future at London Colney for some time, but recent information from The Boot Room and journalist Graeme Bailey has shed some light on the matter.
The report suggests that Arsenal’s leadership anticipates Partey’s departure and believes it is likely, given the reported interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
However, if a buyer for the £200,000-per-week player is not found, the club is also open to keeping him for another season as they prepare for another Premier League title challenge against Man City.
Since his £45 million move from Atletico Madrid in 2020, Partey has played 115 matches for Arsenal, with La Liga expert Gerry Armstrong describing his performance as “sensational.”
