“Great Signing” – Arsenal Told to Poach Premier League Rival for £100m Goal Machine

Arsenal icon Alan Smith has endorsed the transfer rumours swirling around the £100 million player.

Former Arsenal star Alan Smith has weighed in on transfer rumours swirling around his old club’s potential big-money summer acquisition of Newcastle United’s goal-scoring sensation, Alexander Isak.

The Swedish talent has lit up the Premier League this season, notching up 19 goals in just 26 appearances, including a recent brace against Sheffield United, solidifying his standing as a top contender for the Golden Boot.

The Sun recently disclosed that Arsenal and Barcelona are eyeing the player for a summer transfer, with Newcastle United setting the price tag at £100 million for any potential deal. Despite the hefty fee, given the player’s exceptional performance, it could be seen as a worthwhile investment.

Discussing the speculation, Smith acknowledged Isak’s compatibility with Arsenal’s style under Mikel Arteta but expressed skepticism about the likelihood of a transfer, stating to Crypto Casino:

“Alexander Isak is an outstanding player and I’ve been very impressed with him this season. His finishing is top notch and he’s of a style that would definitely complement what Arsenal have already.

“He wouldn’t look out of place technically at the Emirates and he’s now a proven goalscorer in the Premier League, which is always an important trait to possess as a forward – so he’d certainly be a great signing for Arsenal this summer.

“However, he cost Newcastle around £60m, so he’d cost Arsenal a lot more – so I question whether Arsenal have got the funds and whether Newcastle want to sell him.

“Whether Newcastle have to for Financial Fair Play reasons is a different question, so we’ll see what happens, but I’d be surprised if Newcastle allow him to go to what is essentially a title rival if they want to keep pushing forward and stay on an upwards trajectory.”

In August 2022, Isak made a £63 million move to Newcastle United, having caught the attention of Arsenal scouts prior to his transfer. Since then, he has established himself as a prolific goalscorer in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are reportedly eyeing Isak’s compatriot Viktor Gyökeres, who is making waves at Sporting Lisbon. While initially considered, interest in Ivan Toney from Brentford seems to have waned in recent discussions.
